Camcorder Guerillas is a Glasgow-based voluntary collective of independent, filmmakers, activists and artists. We have a network of members and affiliates who support our aims.

What do we do?

We make and showcase films and documentaries that raise awareness of social justice issues facing our local communities.
Our films aim to start or contribute to campaigns. We see ourselves as part of a global movement that is working towards social justice in our society.
We produce films that are made in collaboration with, and used by, minority or disadvantaged communities and those working with them.
Drawing on the resources, skills and experiences of our members, the Collective equips grassroots activists with the skills to make and use high quality video documentaries for campaigning and awareness raising.

Guerilla films

The Collective has made over 6 films since it was set up in January 2003. These films cover local grassroots and human rights issues and have been used for campaigning and awareness raising. Find out more about Guerilla films.

Screenings and events

We hold regular screenings events in the CCA Cinema and in various community venues, bars or festivals. We screen independent films on social justice issues along with local and Camcorder Guerilla films. See our screenings and events calendar for more information.

Archive

The Collective has a broad collection of videos and DVDs on grassroots and human rights issues - local and international.
Since 2003, we’ve been collecting archive footage of political protests, grassroots and community activity from across Scotland.
We are planning to create a community resource and screening library and are continually adding to this collection. Contact us if you want to know more about our archive, or donate some films - always welcome.
