The Big Blockade of Faslane Nuclear Submarine Base

Faslane, thirty miles from Glasgow in Scotland, is the base for
Britain's Trident nuclear missile submarines carrying nuclear weapons
with the destructive power equal to 1,000 Hiroshimas.
Over the past few years, there have been a series of mass non-violent
but disruptive direct actions at Faslane and Coulport nuclear weapons
bases on the Clyde - the Big Blockades!
Those events saw a diversity of people from all over the world,
including lots of young people, churchmen and politicians turning
out - many being arrested for trying to uphold international law,
and stop Trident.
The event, held on the 23rd August, included a mass blockade and
other forms of peaceful direct action including break-ins and swimming
actions.
Camcorder Guerillas were there to capture the full story, using
the exercise to give new members a chance to be part of the filming
process.
